About My Clients
My clients range from children to adults of all abilities and differences. From those who may be Neurodivergent, have mood disorders, anxiety, depression, family challenges, school issues, or difficulty navigating relationships, my goal is to help them thrive with being who they are and feel confident in their abilities. I use a Humanistic lens and rely on client strengths, creativity, focus on goals, and their own talents to help them overcome their hurdles.
My Background and Approach
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, under supervision. I use an Adlerian and Humanistic approach to therapy. By focusing on client strengths and their own abilities, I find that it works best rather than prescribing various interventions that may not be a good fit for all clients. I also use play-based modalities to help clients find their own narrative in life and overcome difficulties. My play-based modalities include sand play, sensory items, kinetic activities, social navigation, and more. I am currently getting certified as Registered Play Therapist and am already a Certified AutPlay Therapy Provider.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
After my previous experience working in crisis, with out-of-placement youth and in a school-based setting, I have found a need to help children and adolescents and also the families, get quality support and an ally to fight for change within the system. I pride myself on my ability to work with the family system and with other systems of support to best help the client find their voice and advocate for themselves. Part of me going into private practice is to help clients of all economic levels and in various areas, access affordable mental health services that is much needed in this day and time. Seeking mental health services is not different than seeking help for other ailments in our body and I am here to help fight the stigma still present in mental health services.
