About My Clients

I have experience working with individuals & couples that struggle with anxiety, depression, communication, trauma, loss, chronic illness, and perhaps have reached an impasse with moving forward within a career, relationship, or other life events. Individuality & diversity are paramount and I welcome those that might be described as "outside the box." I also have extensive experience working with professional artists and those in the entertainment industry & am trained in EMDR trauma therapy.

My Background and Approach

Many difficulties stem from relationships, whether that be with others or the one we have with ourselves. My work with individuals, couples, and families is direct yet warm, empathetic, and understanding as we navigate together how to process the blocks that can obstruct your view and ability to move forward. My clients can expect to explore life events from the past as patterns of behavior emerge in the here-and-now. As this self-awareness begins to develop, clients can often lead more joyful and connected lives. I cater each session according to that unique individual (or couple/family) using real-life examples and the material you provide to deepen your own understanding of YOU. My approach is psychodynamic and relational; I believe you are the narrator of your own story. I am also trained in a specialized trauma therapy protocol called EMDR that has been proven to be effective in reprocessing and desensitizing traumatic memories.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we all deserve a fair shot, and in today's world we simply don't all get one. My personal therapy journey led me to get started with this work professionally, as my counselor helped me navigate some of the deepest and darkest parts of myself and my life. I try not only to be accepting of everyone, but to actively work on empathy and what each person's experience is truly like. I make it a point to actively participate in organizations that support the advancement of equality and social justice, including the Black Lives Matter, Me Too, and Times Up movements. I would love to write how I am actively involved in my yoga practice, but instead I'll tell you the truth...raising a child, being a good spouse, and ready and open to meet with my clients right where they are usually means that you'll find me at about seven pm binging a couple episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta or jamming to early 90's R&B songs before heading to bed early.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
