Accepting Clients

I believe most deeply in bringing my authentic and vulnerable self into the therapy space; I believe healing happens in safe relationships.

Therapist in Ooltewah, TN

About My Clients

My ideal client is growth-minded, intentional, and self-reflective. We will work together to create insights and shifts in personal patterns through both education and exploration. I utilize a blend of resources backed by research in attachment theory, family/relational systems, cultural/social/religious systems, trauma, the Enneagram, self-compassion, vulnerability, and neuroscience.

My Approach to Helping

I rely on personal awareness and introspection within the context of systems and frameworks. My clients and I explore personal motivations and styles of coping learned and created within the systems they've experienced (family, religion, culture, relationships, etc.) to create lasting and intentional shifts in behaviors, thought patterns, and relationships. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to best serve individual clients; everyone's needs and the frameworks they respond to are different, and one form of therapy can't serve everyone. I am trained in Brainspotting, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, Gottman Method, Emotion Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Self-Compassion, the Enneagram, and NeurOptima neurofeedback as well as somatic attachment, systemic, narrative, and feminist approaches to therapy. The approaches I offer address systemic and relational issues as well as the brain and nervous system's responses to trauma.

My Values as a Therapist

I practice from a belief set that all human beings have value, inherently. It is not given and cannot be taken away. As such, they are entitled to basic rights within our social environment, political sphere, and in my therapy space. You have the right to your feelings and experiences and to your identity as well as to the opportunity to heal and be in healthy, secure relationship with others. You have the right to safety in all its forms (physical, emotional, sexual, etc). I believe every human being has potential for growth. This means I see and value you as you are and hold hope for your goals, I see and believe in the potential for you to reach them, and I will walk beside you along the path we collaboratively create. I believe in the healing power of vulnerability and compassion; I will guide you into a mindset of self-compassion as we sit together in your vulnerable spaces. And when you need it, I will direct you toward growth, challenging you to sit in the discomfort of change.
