About My Clients
My clients are adults and young adults coming to therapy because they want to thrive in life and live with more brightness, peace, and purpose. Some have cancer diagnoses, some feel an increase in anxiety, and others are in the midst of a tough life adjustment or breakup. Life can throw us curveballs, we may be feeling stuck, or we may feel something is just off or missing - my goal is to help you re-connect with yourself, be present, and life your best life.
My Background and Approach
My counseling approach involves the following: parts work using Internal Family Systems (IFS), re-engineering internal schemas (elements of CBT), mindfulness (elements of DBT), person-centered therapy, communication enhancement (elements of Gottman Method), and gaining deep levels of self-knowledge. I have professional trainings in Gottman and IFS and also a Master's of Divinity for those who want to incorporate their religion into their wellness. Each person has their own story and are at different places so my approach is very much focused on your specific needs and goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I ultimately believe in Love. We are in a broken world filled with a lot of hurts, wounds, and injustices. The world needs compassion and forgiveness. I am involved with a non-profit called Pink Chair Project which gives breast cancer patients access to an electronic reclining chair (which is crucial for their comfort!). I have volunteered at an orphanage and in homebuilding projects in Tijuana, Mexico multiple times. I have been on a supportive, compassion-based mission to Ghana for a local school and church.
